Limit on FSCS Compensation

There is a £50.000 limit on FSCS investment compensation.  If I have a £150,000 claim and only get back £110.000 after the insolvency can I still claim the £40,000 shortfall from FSCS or am I disqualified because the investment exceeded £50,000 ?
